The cattle at Coast Hill have been given their first application of insecticide along their spine and today those up on the Tolt will receive their first dose in the hope that they will not be bitten be by midges who may be carrying Bluetongue virus 8.

We have set up a new spread sheet to record animal data, each group of cattle is listed by ear tag number for each locations around the farm which should make things more efficient when out in the field.  Details of the weight of each animal and any insecticide or BTV8 vaccine administered can be recorded efficiently out in the field and then loaded onto the computer back in the office.
