On such a beautiful spring morning it was an added bonus to hear the bleating of a new born lamb out in the old bull pen.  Amanda keeps some Charolais sheep in one of our fields and has brought three older 'in-lamb' ewes down to the farm. The first lamb was big and strong and he was followed by another two, not quite so large but still good strong lambs, two rams and a ewe.  The triplets have all fed on the first milk or cholostrum which is packed with antibodies.  If the ewe cannot provide enough milk for all three lambs over the next day or so, then one may need to be bottle fed.
