One of our agronomists is here providing feed-back on the protein levels, bushel weight and hagbers of the Skyfall, Vulkan and Crusoe wheat harvested to date; all are top notch which is good news.

Harvest is about four weeks behind due to the combine fire followed by rain.  If the weather has affected the hagberg of the remaining 110 acres of Crusoe wheat, it might be reduced to feed wheat and the premium for milling wheat would be lost.

Yesterday the recycled paper that had been heaped in the field was spread across the stubble fields east from Crossways.  It is the final use of what started life as a tree and the organic matter is now returning to the soil to fertilise crops.

The cultivator and drilling is undertaken in one turn.

Our bulls Carsluith Ethelred and Mister M have done sterling work; resulting in 19 confirmed pregnancies and calves due from next February.
