Triticale was harvested yesterday and completed this morning; with 150 tonne of triticale off 53 acres according to the meter reading in the combine.

After a quick bite to eat Laurence moved along to Park Farm and began harvesting wheat, with about 105 tonne off 27 acres so far today; he is still out there as I write this.

We have insufficient grain storage for the wheat, so it will be dropped in the grain store at Manor and then be collected by a merchant in the next few days to be stored by them at a price per tonne and once Laurence is happy with the price of wheat he’ll then sell it to the merchant.

David is ploughing Home Field today.

The staff do routine maintenance of the equipment they use.  Ed removes the fertiliser blades from the spreader and replaces these with lime spreading blades.

The Ph of the soil needs to be 6.5 and lime is added if it is more acidic.
