We have some new Friesian calves due in soon and they will need the barn in which the Belted Galloway cows have been housed for the last fortnight since their calves were weaned.

The Beltie cows moved out to West Lawn this morning and since then the shed has been mucked out and prepared for the young Friesians.

The muck is scraped out of the barn and then heaped in a field until it can be spread.

The barn is then pressure washed, disinfected and limed before bedding up with fresh straw.
