The first signs from harvesting the barley is that yields are significantly down but the straw is of good quality. The square baler has worked behind the combine at Shalford and the bales are being cleared from the fields.

With the the barley harvest completed, the combine harvester will be driven back to Manor farm from Shalford very early tomorrow morning.  Laurence will then make a final decision on which crop to harvest next; it will either be wheat or oilseed rape.

Some good hay has been made and hauled back from Tyting and more hay will be cut early next week around Wotton.
