I am pleased to have discovered Mike Jory an artist whose vibrant livestock paintings captured my imagination last year; so much so that I commissioned Mike to paint something unique to help with my branding and marketing of Manor Farm Belted Galloway Beef (more on this at a later date).

In this photo Mike is painting a Belted Galloway and the two paintings to his left are amongst those that led me to contacting Mike.
Mike has suffered from chronic migraine for 20 years.
‘Migraine can make it difficult to progress in life, whether in one’s career or a hobby, but producing art regularly has provided me with a thread of stability over the years, each project brings with it something new to learn and the sense of accomplishment upon completing a painting is always a joy’ Mike says.
Mike is holding an online exhibition of original paintings, drawings and high quality giclee prints. Gifts start at just a few pounds and rise to original paintings selling for £1,500 and a percentage of the money raised will go to the national charity Migraine Action. The exhibition runs from May 1st to June 30th 2012 and is available at www.mikejory.co.uk
· The World Health Organisation has rated migraine among the top 20 most disabling lifetime conditions.
· One in seven people in the UK suffers from migraine
· A migraine attack can last for between 4 and 72 hours
· 10-20% of migraine sufferers are unable to work due to migraine which costs the UK £2.25 billion per year in lost working hours.
With Mike’s unique use of colour and his ability to capture such beautiful light in his paintings, it’s no surprise that Mike exhibits in galleries throughout south west England and London and his images are in private collections around the world. www.mikejory.co.uk
