Congratulations must go to Laurence for winning first and third prize for his two entries of maize in the 2008 Surrey County Agricultural Society Crops Competition.  Laurence also received the Centenary Perpetual Challenge Cup for the most outstanding crop of maize. 

The contractors arrived this week with the forage harvester and began to cut the maize at a fair old speed (compared to wheat).  The whole plant is chopped and carted to the silage clamps where it will be sealed for storage and used as winter cattle food.
